the latest circulars and in case you want to contact two of the people
mentioned in Arthur’s 1981 memories,
I
thought I would let you have Earl Kayne's email address as he lives in Calgary
but he did not have very happy memories of Mount when Richard caught up with
him in Canada a few years ago! ekayne@shaw.ca .

Hi Laszlo,
I was
only at The Mount for three years in my 9th 10th and 11th years.
I came
to England in Aug 1953 to continue my schooling and never went back to live in
Trinidad or Barbados except for the occasional holidays.
My
parents left Trinidad in 1962 and moved to Barbados.
After
that time the only Mount boys I kept in touch with were my cousins.
I have
not kept in touch with any others so do not have anything more to offer.
I went
to Stonyhurst College run by the Jesuits then the University of Birmingham after
which I joined the RAF and spent the next 17 years flying.
On
retiring I joined Marconi Avionics and spent 12 years in Marketing travelling
the world, lecturing on aviation matters and then joined a chauffeur hire
company in London, spent 5 years teaching Maths and Computing at secondary
schools and finally ended up working in intelligence with Kent Police.
I have
been retired now for 12 years and have two daughters and a Son and four
grandsons and one grand Daughter.
I live
in Chatham Kent with my Wife Gillian of 56 years.
A
varied and interesting life but not in any way remarkable.

Even
after all these years I still remember a few.
My
cousins included Hugh and Christopher Henderson, Roger 'Peanuts' de Verteuil,
Arthur Knaggs.
In the
list would be Louis Ache and his brother Adrian,'Pointy'.
There
were Richard and Leary O'Connor, the three Ames boys, David, Michael and
'Baby', Gordon Weekes, Anthony Lucky, a Gonsalves, de Freitas, two
Corraier boys from British Guiana, Scary McCoy, Mama Lopes and his brother,
Vernon de Lima and his cousin also a de Lima, Ian Shoul, Wyke, Nieto, Benedict
and Julian Hutton, (Julian was a very good friend) and I saw Benedict in
Florida but not Julian, Michael Darwent from Palo Seco, and more.
I
could remember more if I had the listing but that is somewhere on one of my
computers.
I live
in Chatham, that is part of the Medway Towns just 35 miles east of London.
I have
lived here for the last 40 years.
I do
not have any photos of the Mount I am sorry to say.
I only
became interested in photography when I went to the College at Stonyhurst.
Then I
did all my own processing, printing and enlarging.
No longer
have anything except a couple of digital cameras!
I
enjoy getting the news of the old boys and did visit the Mount many years ago
when Fr Peter was still alive, but I have not been back for more than 10 years.
A
great shame that the school had to close.
It was
a fine institution and a great credit to all the staff and boys who have done
so well in their careers, such as Gaffney, David Ames, Anthony Lucky and many
others.

come thousand dollars that's more than enough to buy foods and if it is
we end up with less it would still be enough to buy food. And if you
can't afford $50 stay the fuck home Not a widely known fact.
