Circular No 873

Newsletter for alumni of The Abbey School, Mt. St. Benedict, Trinidad and Tobago, W.I.
Caracas, 28 of July 2018 No. 873
----------------------------------------------------------
Dear Friends,
Starting with this Circular, I am going begin to accept advertisements.
I have tried to keep the Circular free from advertisement but due to the conditions that I am facing here in Venezuela it has been inevitable.
I have postponed this moment, but no longer I can keep my particular conditions hidden.
From this issue on, I am going to include advertisements meant to finance the elaboration of the Circular.
After having consulted some friends, I am going to do as in the old O.A.S.I.S. published by Arthur Knaggs, inserting an advertisement banner or similar.
Here is an example:
The yearly fee would be US$5.20 or 10 cents per issue.  And as a bonus you would get the latest issue directly from me mailed to you.
The money received would cover the efforts of Editor to maintain the Circular going from this issue No.873 and help out to attenuate the difficult situation here in Venezuela.

Sir Vidiadhar Surajprasad Naipaul 17 August 1932 – 11 August 2018), known as Vidia Naipaul or V. S. Naipaul, was a writer who won the 2001 Nobel Prize in Literature.
He was born in Trinidad in a family with Indian roots, resided in England as an adult, and traveled across, and wrote about, India, Africa, the Islamic world, and South and North America in his novels and non-fiction works.
He is known for his comic early novels set iin Trinidad and Tobago, his bleaker later novels of the wider world, and his autobiographical chronicles of life and travels.
He published more than thirty books, both of fiction and nonfiction, over some fifty years.
V.S.Naipaul
He was a brilliant man and writer.
As is so often the case with genius or near genius, it seems he was what people would call "difficult".
He had no patience for mediocrity ( or what he perceived to be such) and showed this openly.
What is undeniable is that he was a brilliant Trini writer even if he disparaged his native country.
His best work is set and rooted in our beloved country.
He was, even after adopting another nationality, a Trini, and was part of, or inspired, a canon of Trini writers who put us on the world's literary map.
His contribution to Trinidad is undeniable.
I would say "may he rest in peace", but if there is an after life, as we think there is, then he is probably exclaiming in disappointment, as he did when he first went to England, that there are "asses in droves everywhere".
Nuff respect to a man with dazzling talent!

15-02-2017 09:50:02: Mt Fr. Imash: *👍HOW TO STAY YOUNG*
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever.. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.' And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5.. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love , whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER :Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but  by the moments that take our breath away.
And if you don't send this to at least 8 people - who cares?
But do share this with someone. We all need to live life to its fullest each day!!
Worry about nothing, pray about everything!
15-02-2017 Coscarart Salvador: Amen

15-02-2017 Fr. Imash: This is one of the best posts I've read about woman... Please read it completely... it's worth it...
*WOMAN*. . . . . . . . .
When God created woman he was working late on the 6th day.......
An angel came by and asked." Why spend so much time on her?"
The lord answered. "Have you seen all the specifications I have to meet to shape her?"
●She must function on all kinds of situations.
●She must be able to embrace several kids at the same time.
●Have a hug that can heal anything from a bruised knee to a broken heart.
●She must do all this with only two hands.
●She cures herself when sick and can work 18 hours a day.
THE ANGEL was impressed" Just two hands.....impossible!
And this is the standard model?"
The Angel came closer and touched the woman.
"But you have made her so soft, Lord".
"She is soft", said the Lord,
"But I have made her strong. You can't imagine what she can endure and overcome"
"Can she think?" The Angel asked...
The Lord answered. "Not only can she think, she can reason and negotiate".
The Angel touched her cheeks....
"Lord, it seems this creation is leaking! You have put too many burdens on her".
"She is not leaking...it is a tear". The Lord corrected the Angel…
"What's it for?" Asked the Angel..... .
The Lord said. "Tears are her way of expressing her grief, her doubts, her love, her loneliness, her suffering and her pride."...
This made a big impression on the Angel,
"Lord, you are a genius. You thought of everything.
A woman is indeed marvellous"
Lord said ."Indeed she is.
■She has strength that amazes a man.
■She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens.
■She holds happiness, love and opinions.
■She smiles when she feels like screaming.
■She sings when she feels like crying, cries when happy and laughs when afraid.
■She fights for what she believes in.
■Her love is unconditional.
■Her heart is broken when a next-of-kin or a friend dies but she finds strength to get on with life"
The Angel asked: So she is a perfect being?
The lord replied: No. She has just one drawback.
"She often forgets what she is worth".
Send it to all the women u respect ....👍
And to all men who respect woman 👍👍
*Being a woman is priceless*
Pass this to every woman in your contact to make her feel proud of herself.
*I respect women*
